(Q) Cracked, Rough fingertips

Dr. Sato, I'd like you ask again. My fingertips are rough and sometimes cracked, and rubbing or scratching my face with those fingers sometimes results in scars. In Numajiri's book, it is stated that only the fingertips can be applied, but is it safe to apply zinc ointment only to the fingertips?

(S) It's ok for fingertips. Vaseline would be easier to use.

(Q) Thank you for your prompt reply! I don't have Vaseline, would a mixture of beeswax and olive oil work?

(S) That's fine.

(Q) UV protection during NMT

I am doing TSW and NMT, but what is the best way to protect against UV rays?

I live in Okinawa, Japan. I am concerned about UV rays in daily life, especially when I ride in a car. Before the steroid rebound happened, I always applied sunscreen to my skin, long gloves, masks, etc., but I don't want to use as much as possible because my rough skin still feels sore. Still, I can't avoid driving, such as to and from the kids, shopping, etc. What should I do? I am also wondering what to do about UV protection when I go outside to walk.

(S) Sunscreen cream is a moisturizer. UV protection is the use of hats and umbrellas. UV rays can enter the front of the car but not from the sides and rear in general. Wearing UV blocking glasses is also a good idea.
